No Corporal Punishment
Arwachin Public School has zero tolerance towards corporal punishment. Research on corporal punishment has shown that it may be harmful. Many other methods of discipline are effective in promoting self-control, eliminating undesirable behaviours and promoting desired behaviours in children. Arwachin strongly recommends non-violent methods of addressing the students, such as behaviour management and school-wide positive behaviour support.
No Phones on Campus
Arwachin Public School as zero tolerance towards cell phones on campus. We not only prohibit our students but also our teachers against cellphone use during school hours. Cell phones/electronic devices may serve as an outstanding instructional tool and learning resource if used appropriately. We encourage our staff members and our students to use electronics and other 21st century devices to supplement instruction and learning. However, it has been proven that students who are on cell phones or other electronic devices when it is not part of the instructional lesson are not fully engaged in learning. In order to preserve the teaching and learning environment, we have incorporated a Ban on Cellphones inside the school premises
The overall ration of teachers to students is approximately 1:10. In junior classes, each class has a class teacher as well as an assistant teacher to provide students with individual attention.
